**Job Summary**

**This is a term-limited position due to salary funded on a grant.**

The University of Michigan, School of Nursing (UMSN) is seeking a Clinical Site Coordinator to assist with the direction and coordination of various aspects of the Michigan Value Collaborative Obstetrics Initiative goals. The Michi gan Value Collaborative (MVC) is a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) funded multi-hospital consortium that aims to improve the quality of hospital-based care through the analysis of robust claims data and best practice sharing. Nested within MVC, the Obstetric Initiative (OBI) is a quality improvement initiative addressing variation in obstetric care with a first initiative of supporting vaginal birth and safely lowering the cesarean delivery rate among low-risk patients. In collaboration with the Nursing/Midwifery OBI Co-Director and Project Manager, the Clinical Site Coordinator will be responsible for the supervision, management, performance, and ongoing site engagement with OBI hospitals. The Clinical Site Coordinator will also be the primary contact point for maternity hospital outreach and member hospitals' quality improvement initiatives.


+ Develop relationships with the Labor & Delivery staff at each hospital to support their quality improvement initiatives focused on promoting beneficial health outcomes for mothers and babies.Assist in the development and dissemination of the quality initiative implementation toolkit utilizing quantitative and qualitative data.

+ Independently conduct in-person site visits at member hospitals to assist in quality improvement project implementation.

+ Be a resource to the member hospitals to problem-solve challenges and concerns. Help to identify barriers to providing high value obstetric care.

+ Serve as the OBI point of contact for the maternity hospitals across the state. Participate in strategic hospital recruitment efforts to encourage new member hospitals including site visits, attending conferences and participate in presentations.

+ Develop content and assist in the deployment of web-based learning modules and educational materials.

+ Conduct scientific literature searches, including abstracting data from published sources, summarizing articles, and maintaining a bibliographic database. Assist in the preparation, writing, editing and dissemination of academic papers and presentations.

+ Provide external support to participant hospitals for quality improvement initiatives, including provision of data, relevant literature, access to experts and other resources. Initiate and develop inter-hospital working groups to enable statewide improvement initiatives.

+ Participate in senior leadership activities with the OBI Directors and Project Manager, including participating in strategic decision making and new project development.

+ Review data and reports to identify areas for quality improvement. Assist in the development and dissemination of hospital and provider specific data regarding rates of cesarean delivery, readmission, reoperation, neonatal admission and other relevant outcomes.

Supervision is received directly from the OBI Nursing/Midwifery Co-Director.

**Required Qualifications***

Education and Experience:

+ A Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or other health related discipline. If Master's degree is not a Master's in Nursing, a BSN is required.

+ Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a professional nurse in the maternity care setting.

+ Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Women's Health/Maternity Care and/or Reproductive Health Research.

+ Experience or exposure to the management of research studies, including compliance with regulatory requirements.

+ Direct experience with quality improvement activities in a hospital setting.

+ Candidate must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to receive and convey information clearly and concisely for various mediums.

+ Excellent computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

+ Ability to travel frequently to various locations across the state.


+ Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Michigan, required

+ State of Michigan nurse specialty certification as a Nurse-Midwife or Nurse Practitioner, preferred.

+ Strong leadership skills, including ability to organize and motivate a diverse and multitalented team towards the success of the collaborative.

+ Professional, team-driven attitude and proven ability to take initiative.

+ Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize and complete tasks independently and efficiently.

+ Demonstrated ability to work well with and contribute to a high-functioning, inter-disciplinary team.

+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate with leadership and administrators.

**Additional Information**

**Shift/Hours/Days:** 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; may include some occasional weekend or evening hours.
