**Job Summary**

The library seeks a talented and service-oriented individual to serve as the end user computing service manager within the Library Operations at -operations division. The successful candidate will help lead a refocused effort to stabilize and provide ongoing sustainable support of public and staff end user computing across the library. This position will partner with library teams in Operations and Library Information Technology at -information-technology (LIT,) computing service owners and stakeholders throughout the library and across campus. This person will collaborate wth Information Technology Services at (ITS), the library's primary service provider of end user computing needs, to deliver comprehensive end user computing support to the library.

The position will reside within the Operations User Services department and will connect and coordinate all end-user computing budgeting, refresh, and logistics under a common umbrella, with Operations providing front-facing support and consultation for day-to-day needs; Library Information Technology providing technical coordination, planning, refresh, policy, and administrative/logistical support; and ITS providing technology infrastructure services, equipment management, inventory, troubleshooting, and break/fix services. Note: This position will be a full-time, two-year term appointment with the possibility of renewal.


Under the direction of the User Services and Operations Outreach Manager and in collaboration with the leadership of Operations and LIT, the successful candidate will assume responsibilities in these areas at a level based on their experience and qualifications:

**Service Coordination**

+ Partner with service owners throughout the library on planning, operation, and oversight of computing and AV in library spaces

+ Provide front-line customer service regarding technology and AV support in library spaces, including event spaces, meeting rooms, specialized instruction labs

+ Coordinate technical aspects of service needs across staff and public computing and AV systems for the library

+ Provide regular advocacy to ITS service providers and other vendors, including needs, gaps or changes in service, new functionality requirements, etc

+ Act as a primary liaison and communication point to ITS service providers and other vendors who fulfill technical support, imaging, infrastructure, installation, purchasing, etc. for library end-user computing and AV systems

+ Communicate to library staff any changes in service, technology, or functionality that may impact their use of end user computing resources

+ Provide in-person training for library staff and create training documentation and material

**Technical Consulting / Expertise**

+ Consult on and recommend design principles, plans, and functional requirements for computing and AV systems in public spaces, meetings rooms, staff work spaces, and other end-user computing environments

+ Research and recommend specifications and solutions for equipment, technical configuration, integration, ergonomics, etc based on stated needs

+ Recommend and liaise with appropriate ITS service providers and vendors for stated needs

+ Monitor and implement policies and guidelines related to purchasing and standard specifications; recommend updates and changes to policies as needed


+ Coordinate end user computing-related work of other technical staff who provide computing and systems support, but no direct supervisory expectations

**Required Qualifications***

+ Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years experience relevant to position responsibilities

+ Strong service background with an emphasis on working as part of a team

+ Understands and values diversity and the importance of inclusion as demonstrated through a commitment to apply and incorporate the differences, complexities, and opportunities that diversity brings to an organization

+ Demonstrated understanding of the role and potential of technology as part of the library's mission

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

+ Knowledge of technology trends in academic or research environments, and enthusiasm to learn and adapt as new technologies and requirements emerge

+ Ability to work accurately, efficiently, and dependably with minimal supervision

**Desired Qualifications***

+ Experience planning, delivering, and maintaining a portfolio of end user computing services in an academic or research environment
