Part-time Non-Eligible employees are not part of the Oakland County Merit System. These positions are limited to 1,000 hours per calendar year and are not eligible for benefits. A closing notice may be posted when a sufficient number of applications have been received to meet current needs.
Job Summary
Under direction is responsible for the promotion and development of a comprehensive nature interpretation program within the Oakland County parks. Promotes public interest in the study and appreciation of nature. Plans and conducts field trips, and plans, prepares and presents lectures, slide programs, and outdoor education workshops. Confers with Park Supervisor to ensure maintenance of naturalist and environmental program facilities. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
Minimum Qualifications

At the time of application, applicants must:
1. Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in parks interpretation, outdoor education, the biological sciences or related field; **AND**
2. Have had at least two (2) years professional experience in a park's nature interpretation program.
3. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
4. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.
